There is no greater panic than hearing your toddler wake up on the baby monitor while you are leading on the final lap. It is the only time in my life I have considered if a three-year-old can 'fend for themselves' for ninety seconds.
NEWS FLASH

Jimmyโs wild ride: akaJames Hinchcliffeโs NASCAR debut in St. Petersburg was a chaotic masterpiece, featuring a collision with Dario Franchitti and a trip through the runoff area that dropped him to 22nd. Despite the literal and figurative dents, the IndyCar vet clawed his way back from the rear twice to secure a gritty 10th-place finish. After navigating the steep learning curve of stock car tire management, Hinchcliffe is already eyeing a return to the cockpit to grab some NASCAR hardware.
Sim racing or bad habits: Dale Earnhardt Jr. is pushing back against theories that iRacing is responsible for Carson Hocevarโs aggressive on-track triggers. While critics suggest sim racing lacks real-world repercussions, Junior argues the platform is an essential tool for mastering the mental frame of mind required for superspeedways. He points to success stories like Anthony Alfredo and Rajah Caruth as proof that virtual laps build legitimate racecraft. To Junior, Hocevarโs "instant reaction" style is more a product of modern culture than a simulator glitch, and he isn't looking for the young driver to change.
Mercedes power play: Lewis Hamilton fears his former squad could run away with the title in just a few months after George Russell and Kimi Antonelli walked away with an easy 1, 2 finish in Australia. The dominant start by Ferrari off the grid at the beginning of the race had fans at the edge of their seats while Leclerc battled it out lap after lap with Russell while Hamilton was a matter of car lengths behind getting ready to pounce. The botched classic Ferrari pitstop hung Hamilton and Leclerc out to dry as they watched both Mercedes cars walk away from the field to end the race.
๐ Supporting sim racing means supporting development, teamwork, and the next
generation of drivers. Race To Approval is proud to support communities that value
preparation, shared learning, and continuous improvementโprinciples that matter just as much in business as they do in competition.
SIM RACING SNIPPETS
Xboxโs "Project Helix": Microsoftโs next console, a Windows 11-based PC, could let sim racers run every PC sim on their TV. Access to Steam on Xbox might even bring Gran Turismo to the platform, forcing Sony to rethink its PC strategy.
Ranked racing savior: arcaderanked.com is the communityโs answer to iRacing Arcadeโs lack of public lobbies. It brings ELO matchmaking and structured racing to the new title. Finally, a way to race others without begging for lobby codes.
Speed vs. sanity: The Top Split Paradox proves high ratings don't equal maturity. Elite splits are plagued by "hot lappers" who excel in clean air but cause chaos in traffic. True racecraft remains the missing metric in high-level competition.
MOTORSPORTS REPORT
Mickโs messy debut: Mick Schumacherโs first IndyCar race ended in a heap after just four corners in St. Petersburg. The former F1 driver was a total passenger when Sting Ray Robb and Santino Ferrucci collided ahead of him, leaving his car perched on top of Ferrucciโs rear wing.
Toyotaโs testing sweep: Sho Tsuboi led a dominant showing at Okayama, with the No. 36 TOMโS car topping three of four sessions. Toyota claimed five of the top seven spots, while LM Corsaโs Lexus topped GT300. Hondaโs new Prelude-GT debut ended a quiet eighth.
NASCAR's broken points system: COTA proved the current scoring is flawed; tiny gaps make stages as vital as the finish. A 22nd-place driver can outscore 2nd, killing road course strategy. Without tiered points, the new format fails to reward late-race charges.

The Delivery Driver Serving You At T1
Most pro drivers start at age 4. Jorrel Julius started at 19โand he funded the habit by delivering packages. Now 22, the Brackley-based driver is trading the delivery van for a seat in the 2026 MINI Challenge Trophy, broadcast live on national TV.
This isn't a trust-fund story. Itโs about a Product Design Engineering student at Brunel who worked night shifts to pay for weekend seat time in TKM and Iame X30 karts. Coming from a family of "tinkerers" who prefer manual handling to management, Jorrel treats racing like an engineering problem: one part talent, two parts grit.
When off-track, heโs a 4k iRating threat on iRacing. Through the Sim Racing Nation community, he found the endurance experience to stay sharp when budgets for real-world tires ran thin. Heโs now joining a professional team (announcement March 23rd) to prove that the sim-to-circuit pipeline is more than just a dream.
Not only that, Jorrel is repping one of our logos (Sim Racing Nation) to get the word out about the community and be a positive ambassador for us. We canโt wait to follow Jorrel on his journey!
The 2026 Roadmap for Jorrel:
BUKC Finals: Racing for Brunel on Alpha Live, April 21-22.
The Stage: Catch the action live on ITV4 on the BTCC support grid.
Balance: Using drawing and music to stay race-fit and recharged.
