Carving Canada’s Path Through Sim Racing
Daniel Blanco will be the first to tell you he didn’t follow the standard corporate playbook. Growing up in a working-class Montreal home, he was an ADHD kid who barely scraped through high school with an auto mechanics diploma and an obsessive love for motorsport.
Two decades after turning his first virtual laps at age ten, that stubborn self-belief has turned into genuine national infrastructure. Daniel is proving that raw conviction and hard work will always outpace a sterile resume.
Building Canada’s Digital Pipeline
Through Esports Racing Canada and his work with Grid Finder, Blanco is reshaping how virtual talent translates to real-world motorsport, building legitimate pathways from bedrooms to pit lanes. The international motorsport world took notice with Daniel’s help accomplishing:
Global Leadership: Selected for the elite 2026 FIA Immersion Global Leadership Cohort after captaining Team Canada at the 2024 Motorsport Games in Valencia.
Podium Prowess: Acted as official team delegate to guide sim racer George Griffiths to an Esports Bronze Medal at the 2025 NACAM Games.
His current focus is standardizing the scene. That means building a unified national competition ladder, aligning Canadian sim racing with FIA and Esport Canada benchmarks, and opening up authentic sim-to-reality track opportunities. It’s also about empowering the grassroots volunteering network that keeps real-world club racing alive.
When he steps away from the screen, Daniel stays grounded tracking his own car, hitting the ice for hockey, or taking to the trails. It turns out a little bit of unapologetic belief in yourself can take you anywhere—even to the top of international motorsport.
