I spend 90% of my time in the sim meticulously crafting a custom livery, and 10% of my time using that livery to re-decorate the barrier at Turn 1.

NEWS FLASH

Without your support, we wouldn't be here today! Here’s how you can help us grow.

Heartbreak in the desert: Rookie sensation Connor Zilisch, with 10 Xfinity wins, and Cup veteran Denny Hamlin, who led the most laps, both entered the Phoenix championship weekend as the clear favorites in their series. Despite dominating their respective seasons and much of the final race, both drivers fell victim to late-race chaos—a poorly timed caution for Zilisch and a devastating late yellow for Hamlin—allowing other drivers to snatch the championships. Their heartbreaking losses exposed the "lunacy" of NASCAR's playoff format, which prioritizes a single-race lottery over season-long excellence, leaving both the wunderkind and the veteran empty-handed.

Sim racing's new regs: The FIA has announced the first sim racing event to use its International Sporting Code, the MENA Esports Championship 2025 in Amman, Jordan. The competition, which attracted over 1,200 participants, will be run on Gran Turismo 7 and overseen by an FIA-appointed race director and stewards. This move highlights the FIA's growing commitment to esports and its efforts to integrate virtual racing with real-world motorsport.

Gearing up for a penalty: Lando Norris leads the F1 title fight by a single point over teammate Oscar Piastri, but Max Verstappen, behind the two McLaren drivers, faces a serious threat to his championship hopes. The Red Bull driver is reportedly most at risk of a grid penalty, a situation that could give his McLaren rivals a massive boost. Verstappen is already on his seventh of eight allowed exhausts for the season, meaning one more change will trigger a 10-place grid penalty, while both Norris and Piastri are safely on just their third.

SIM RACING SNIPPETS

  • Racing for success: iRacing's upcoming IndyCar game, landing in 2026, is confirmed to feature authentic teams, drivers, and a layered career mode built on its legendary physics engine. To truly be a hit beyond just the hardcore sim crowd, it needs to perfectly balance that simulation with arcade accessibility, include IndyCar's rich history, and deliver impressive graphics.

  • Endurance has arrived: Automobilista 2 just dropped its biggest update of the year, v1.6.8.5, which includes a free GT2 car and two new $9.99 DLC packs: the "Historical Track Pack Pt. 3" and "Historical Endurance Pack Pt. 1," both focused on content from 2005. This massive update also introduces Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) for better visuals, refines physics for several car classes, and significantly improves AI behavior for smoother, fairer racing.

  • #PCMasterRace will finally… Race: NASCAR 25, which already hit consoles, is firing up on PC on November 11, 2025. Developed by iRacing, this version brings the full simulation experience with sharper visuals, mod support for custom paint schemes, and wider wheel compatibility, though it's skipping crossplay for now.

MOTORSPORTS REPORT

  • Massa's big payday: Felipe Massa is suing Formula 1, the FIA, and Bernie Ecclestone for $82 million, claiming he was "cheated" out of the 2008 world title because of the infamous "Crashgate" scandal in Singapore. A London judge is now deciding if the case will proceed to a full trial, while F1's lawyers deny any wrongdoing and call the ambitious claim a misguided attempt to rewrite history.

  • Driving for diversity: Arrow McLaren is teaming up with Women in Motorsports North America in a multi-year deal aimed at creating new pathways to advance and connect women across the racing industry. The team will be a key player in WIMNA's "Women with Drive" summit, supporting the next generation of talent while also recognizing that a diverse workforce is key to accelerating their own performance.

  • McLaren's big comeback: [PODCAST ALERT] Just eight years after finishing second to last, McLaren has completed a remarkable turnaround to win back-to-back Constructors' titles, a revival led by CEO Zak Brown and Team Principal Andrea Stella. With their drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri separated by a single point, the team is now laser-focused on capturing its first Drivers' Championship since 2008 as they head into the season's final four races.

THE SPOTLIGHT

NASCAR's "Game 7" Dream Is Officially a Nightmare

The 2025 NASCAR season wasn't a championship finale; it was a breaking point. The playoff system was designed 12 years ago to create "Game 7 moments," prioritizing manufactured drama over sporting legitimacy. Instead, it delivered its most potent combination of illegitimate outcomes and heartbreaking injustice, exposing the format as a complete failure.

The Cup Series Fiasco

This is how a championship died. Denny Hamlin dominated the finale at Phoenix, leading a staggering 208 laps. With his first title just three laps away, another contender's random parts failure triggered a caution.

In an instant, 208 laps of dominance were erased.

The championship was no longer a race; it was a two-lap pit-stop lottery. The title was handed to Kyle Larson... who didn't lead a single lap all day. The result was so contrary to fairness that the "winner" was subdued, and the dominant feeling in victory lane was "sadness and disbelief."

The Xfinity Embarrassment

If the Cup race was a tragedy, the Xfinity finale was a straight-up farce.

  • Rookie Connor Zilisch delivered a historically dominant 10-win season.

  • Jesse Love won only two races all year.

Guess who won the championship? Love. Zilisch's entire season was nullified because he finished third in the one-race finale. Experts immediately labeled the outcome an "embarrassment for the sport" and the "nail in the coffin" for the format.

The "No BS" Verdict

The system's core flaw—the "one-race thing"—was brutally exposed. It transforms a 35-race marathon into a one-race lottery, making season-long performance completely worthless.

The good news? NASCAR finally cried uncle. Leadership has publicly conceded the format is broken. The "one-race thing" is looking to get revised. The 2025 finale may be the last time this flawed system will decide a champion, with a new format likely coming in 2026.

MEMBER FEATURE

The Norwegian iRating Machine

Meet Timothy Friis Larsen, the 16-year-old from Norway who went from a "bare minimum" Xbox setup to iRacing royalty in just a couple of years.

After getting hooked on F1 22, he built a proper PC in Spring 2023 and jumped into iRacing. The results? He’s already #1 in Norway on the formula license charts and sits in the top 70 globally.

Beating the Pros: Timothy isn't just fast against sim racers; he’s taking down real-world drivers, having beaten names like F2’s Isack Hadjar (twice) and Taylor Barnard. He also holds season fastest laps in Super Formula and F3 on iRacing and competes with Hyperion Racing in the 24H Esports Series.

The Next Level: His ambitions aren't just virtual. The ultimate dream is F1 (or WEC). His current sim goal is hitting the 10k formula iRating mark (he’s at 9.1k) and building his name as a fast, clean driver.

When he’s not setting fastest laps, he’s watching racing, designing liveries, or hanging with friends.

Timothy is thankful for his support system and his faith: "I'm just so thankful to be able to do what I'm doing... to have a God who loves me, no matter what... God bless all of you!"
