I tell people I’m watching Le Mans to witness peak automotive engineering and endurance racing, but really I just want to see a $15 million hypercar get taken out by a wandering GT3 AM driver at 3 in the morning.
OFFICIAL SRN TRACK DAY [ONLY 6 SPOTS LEFT]
Rookie Racing is hosting an event meetup for SRN for an exclusive Arrive & Drive track day at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Development Track on Saturday, July 11th.
Daniel Morad has confirmed that he will be around and may stop by to check it out!
Hosted alongside the IMSA race weekend in Toronto, this event lets you jump out of the rig and into a real race car for $600 CAD—well below standard track day rates.
Drivers get 3×20 minute sessions, onboard video, and MoTeC data. Rookies receive dedicated in-car coaching, while intermediate drivers can run solo.
If the grid sells out, a set of Heusinkveld Sprint pedals will be up for grabs. Spectators can come hang out for free.
NEWS FLASH
Monaco Miracle: Alpine pulled off a masterclass in the stewards' room, successfully using a Right of Review to overturn Pierre Gasly's twin pit-lane speeding penalties from Monaco. The FIA wiped the ten seconds of penalties after Alpine brought new, game-changing evidence to Barcelona. The decision dramatically reinstates Gasly’s P3 finish, snatching away Red Bull junior Isack Hadjar’s maiden podium and demoting Oscar Piastri, Liam Lawson, and Arvid Lindblad down the order. The French squad can now hunt for points in Spain with a trophy already in the bag.
Ultimate Replica: Thrustmaster, Ferrari, and 24H Le Mans dropped a 1:1 scale collector's steering wheel honoring the Centenary-winning 499P Hypercar. Limited to 499 units, the molded carbon fiber wheel packs a 4.3-inch telemetry screen, 6 adjustable paddles, 22 LEDs, and 7 aluminum encoders. Devoted Tifosi get a steel display stand, two premium A3 Automobilist posters, and a copy of Le Mans Ultimate bundled with the 2024 DLC. Pre-orders open June 13, 2026, giving sim racers the ultimate piece of hardware.
Magma Rising: Genesis just shook up Le Mans by dropping the Magma GT3 Concept right before its Hypercar debut. Instead of modifying a boring road car, Hyundai’s luxury arm is building this beast from scratch, mirroring tactics from Toyota and Mercedes. Team boss Cyril Abiteboul calls it a potential future pathway for Genesis Magma Racing alongside their WEC prototype push. There is no official green light for a grid spot yet, but the brand is clearly plotting a massive motorsport takeover while its V8 LMDh cars gather serious pace.
SIM RACING SNIPPETS
Hypercar Sim: Aston Martin and Curv released the AMR-C01-R, a 24-unit limited simulator inspired by the Valkyrie. It features a carbon-fiber monocoque, a custom wheel with a 5-inch display, motorized pedals, and a 49-inch curved monitor.
Rallying Regret: [OPINION] iRacing missed a massive opportunity to dominate the virtual rally scene after its 2021 Mount Washington release. Instead of expanding its advanced loose-surface physics and infrastructure into a full discipline, development stalled due to corporate hesitation. [READ MORE]
Forza Loot Hunt: Snag 100k CR in Forza Horizon 6's Spring Treasure Hunt. Fast travel to the Tokyo City Docks drift zone, find the "Irakuzu" warehouse, and climb the outside catwalk ramps to smash the chest. Don't forget to snap the Irokawa Space Center for the photo rewards.

Grid Geeks Bonus: Jake Sparey was nominated Commentator of the Year at the 2026 _____________MOTORSPORTS REPORT
Heartbreaking Promise: Samantha Busch shared the agonizing deathbed vow she made to late NASCAR icon Kyle Busch, promising to support their kids' racing dreams. With Kyle's No. 8 car paused at RCR until 11-year-old Brexton can take over, the track remains their true home.
Sponsor Stalled: Volante Rosso Motorsport yanked its McLaren 720s GT3 from the GT World Challenge round at Queensland Raceway. A major partner suffered frozen capital due to global conflict, leaving drivers Geoff Emery and Josh Hunt sidelined just before practice.
IndyCar Icon: Scott Dixon has a reported $36 million net worth, making him IndyCar royalty. The six-time champ pulls a $3.5M-$4.5M salary from Chip Ganassi Racing, stacked with $15M+ in Indy 500 payouts and heavy backing from PNC Bank, Honda, and Richard Mille. [READ MORE]

Jake Sparey [LEFT]
The Voice Fueling Sim Racing and Beyond
You might recall a commentator shouting at the top of their lungs providing dramatic play by play action at the top of their lungs, creating a memorable story in the moment as you watch cars whiz around a track. If you’re a sim racing enthusiast and catch broadcast races or highlights, one of your favorite moments might come from this guy right here..
As a 17-year-old, most catch sim racing highlights to see the crashes. Jake Sparey watched a driver commentating on themselves in the third person and thought, I can do that better. He asked for the mic, called four shows, and immediately got flagged as a natural. Fast forward from that accidental break in 2016, and the Bristol, UK native has become one of the premier voices across the iRacing landscape. If you’ve tuned into major broadcasts on iRacing, Racespot, GSRC, or Simspeed over the last decade, you’ve likely heard his familiar voice on the telly.
The grind behind this career requires an absurd level of versatility, a trait that took Sparey from local bedroom setups straight to Williams HQ in Grove and Piccadilly Circus during the British Grand Prix weekend.
From Global Reach to Real World Opportunities
Jake’s commentary has crossed borders into the US, Canada, and Malta, proving that a sharp voice and quick instincts translate globally. In 2026, the virtual world became a launchpad. Sparey is officially making the jump to real-world racing, calling the Thailand Super Series and the Royal Drift Series—a gig sending him to China six times this year alone.
The industry is taking notice. He recently capped off a run as a finalist for Commentator of the Year at the 2026 Clapham North Motorsport Awards. When the headset comes off, the analytical brain doesn't shut down; it just migrates to massive YouTube passion projects involving high-level data spreadsheeting for Football Manager and vintage Tiger Woods PGA Tour simulations. Whether he’s breaking down drift angles in China or deep-diving into database projects, Sparey operates with a simple, relentless baseline goal:
“Make the next show better than the last one.”
